Basics
Information Types
Information is all around us. From the conversations we have, to the clothes we wear, to the way we physically interact, we exchange information non-stop. And having more in-depth information about exchange of information would help us lead better lives as individuals and create a better future for all humans. All information can be classified as one of 8 types of information. I will symbolize them with a letter, which stands for a word, which in turn is the most important and key part of that type of information. Let's look more in-depth at all 8 of them.
I - Ideas
A - Actions
R - Relationships
T - Time
P - Property
E - Emotions
O - Opinions
S - Senses
Ideas
I-info is information produced by thinking, or occurring suddenly in the mind. This includes any ideas one might have, any weird or unique information, as that would normally come from thought, as opposed to coming from other people. Thinking also allows us to get the key idea from a set of information, which would also be a T-info.
Actions
A-info is anything related to action, such as details (to perform better actions), any methods or techniques that help one perform an action, and memory - to store the techniques. Law is also part of A-info as it is instructions on what to do and what not to do. Reasoning, cause and effect also go here as it is actions that are cause for the effect. From that follows that rationality is A-info too as it is the ability to perform actions based on reasoning. Irony is making fun of the irrational so it would be A-info as well.
Relationships
R-info is any information on relationships between objects. This includes humans, so it would include human relationship statuses, like friend, husband, girlfriend. But it also includes any position you take relative to other people, like CEO, Vice President, employee, etc. Relationships between objects too are R-info, like taller, greater, worse or the fastest. Objects and relationships between them are often organized into systems, so information about those systems and organizations would be R-info as well. Laws that help organize the systems are R-info as well.
Time
T-info is information about patterns of change of something in time. It is planning and foresight, but the most common P-info is religion and anything paranormal, because humans tend to see patterns in everything and if that something does not have a simpler explanation, we make up our own. We feel anger if something unpredictable happens and tranquility and calm if everything goes as planned. Music without lyrics or rap are meant to set the pace so it would be more related to T-info.
Property
P-info is anything that is related to property and resources, their accumulation, preservation and distribution. Money, and any wealth, not necessarily liquid, but also looks and any visual information and smell as it is a reliable way of determining how much property you have. P-info also includes power and strength (but not the position - that’s R-info) as while not material, that is still something one can own.
Emotions
E-info is information about internal state of mind, happiness or sadness. Facial expressions, body language and tone of voice help us determine the state of mind, so any information related to sounds is automatically processed by us as E-info. Music with lyrics is intended to convey emotions, so it is also E-info. (I mentioned before how rap is T-info instead, it is in part because rap is not emotionally expressive)
Opinions
O-info as our subjective perceptions about objects around us. Unlike R-info it is not about comparison of objects. Where R-info is about who that person might be to us (e.g. boyfriend), O-info is our opinions on that person (e.g. “I like that guy”). Love, hate, like, enjoy are all words that we may use to express our opinion. Saying “She’s the best” is not an expression of our opinion, it is a comparison of “her” to other people, or a relationship she has with other people, when it comes to “being good”. It is a very important distinction and is very easy to confuse.
Senses
S-info is any information on physical senses. This excludes hearing (E), seeing (P) and smell (P), but includes, touch, temperature, texture, taste, sex. Sex is about senses, although some people see their partners as something they own and can use for reproduction (P), the actual physical feeling of sex is S-info. As far as clothing goes, S-info is about comfort, P is about the looks, N is about being unique and T is about provoking a response. More on that in some other article.
Functions
All these types of information are processed by humans in large quantities every day. However there is no doubt that some people understand how to work with some of those better than with the others. Some we don’t want to talk about at all and some kinds of information we want to receive endlessly. So, let us define how we use these types of information and how we operate with them. To make it easier to structure, read and understand, I will list them here from strongest to weakest, this time I will use lowercase letters and their names so it is easier to use in conversations and materials I publish. Additionally the combination of a lowercase and a capital letter will mean a specific function working with a specific type of information, for example tS is Senses as tool.
Main
The strongest function is pretty much everything you would expect. With that type of information we operate well, we produce it in large quantities. In fact the production of that kind of information is our main goal in life. And if it isn’t already, it should be. A person with mF will be focused on making money, will look good and will tell people about it.
Style
Similar to main in that we’re great at producing, receiving and operating with that kind of information, however it is more so the norm. We don’t pay close attention to that kind of information, we work with it subconsciously. A person with sN is very smart and creative but does not strive to be unique or special, although usually is one nonetheless.
Tool
Used by us consciously to achieve our goals, pretty strong, not like a or b, but still good enough. It is very flexible and we often lie about information specifically related to our c function. Unlike main or style it is not always used, it is turned on and off depending on the need. tEs for example consciously cry or smile to get what they want even if that is not how they feel on the inside.
Control
Used by us subconsciously and reactively receives and monitors incoming information, and then corrects that flow, by producing a small amount of information. Additionally, while we can work with that kind of information, we do not want to, it usually is dismissed as excessive or unimportant. cA for example might criticize someone for not being rational, or not paying attention to details, or being too focused on details.
Follow
What we believe is important to society, and even though it is not important to us, we try to receive information and try to follow the example set by that information in how we produce our information. It is one of two main areas of growth in our lives. For example, fRs try to act fair and attempt to organize their life following examples of others even though they do not fully understand the need for it. They think it is important for people around them and they want to follow the standards set by others in how logical and structured they are.
Learn
Information that we also want to be good at producing (the other main area of growth), but unlike f we are more willing and excited about it. Additionally receiving praise or positive feedback does not feel like a relief (like with f), but instead like an achievement which motivates further growth and action. lOs for example want to be called moral and be loved, and will often attempt to express opinions that they have formed, and eventually may start to form opinions of their own instead of repeating what they already learnt from others.
Pain
Information that we do not want to receive, operate with or produce. Generally, people either get very defensive, expending a lot of energy to protect themselves from information of that kind, which they see as attacks, or ignore that information completely, focusing on development of other skills. People with pT usually worry about being late, are tense and are quick to anger, have poor reaction time and do not like to talk about the future or change.
Want
Together with main is (or should be) another life goal, but instead of producing that information, we should attempt to receive it. It is hard to develop and we usually don’t but we really want to receive information of that kind. In fact, if we don’t we usually get depressed and sad. It is the same with alpha and production of information but a lot less likely. We want to receive information constantly and in large amounts, will never be tired of getting it. For example wAs love working and doing what other people tell them, they like talking about what is rational and what is not, like talking about the minor details in everything, like irony and a busy lifestyle and are some of the few that can keep up with wAs.
Numbers
Combining the types of information and the functions will yield us 16 unique types of people, which I will use numbers to identify and call. Here they are with letters standing for all the functions main-want:
IARTPEOS (IA for short)
SOEPTARI (SO)
EPSOAITR (EP)
RTIAOSPE (RT)
EITOAPSR (EI)
RSPAOTIE (RS)
PARSIEOT (PA)
TOEISRAP (TO)
PEOSIART (PE)
TRAISOEP (TR)
AITREPSO (AI)
OSPERTIA (OS)
APSREITO (AP)
OTIERSPA (OT)
IEOTFARS (IE)
SARPTOEI (SA)
Adjacency
You may notice that all numbers that are odd-even adjacent have the reverse order of letters. Any pair of such numbers has the same life goals, each has every function strong that the other one has weak. In general main+want, style+pain, tool+learn, control+follow are great combinations of functions with the same type of information to have. If you go through the description above you will notice how well these complement each other if they deal with the same kind of information. Here is a more detailed breakdown:
main+want
Main likes to generate a lot of information, Want likes to receive a lot of information.
style+pain
Pain does not like dealing with a specific kind of information. Style effortlessly and subconsciously, without producing any extra information, receives and processes such information.
tool+learn
Tool generates information in necessary amounts to achieve an objective. Learn is able to observe and learn from that.
control+follow
Follow believes that others value an individual's ability to work with a certain kind of information and tries to conform to the norms. Control observes follow’s behavior and adds minimal correction, which develops follow function in the other individual.
Connections between information types
Information types are connected between each other in one of two ways, by value, or by ability. Value simply means that if one information type is valued by an individual then the other one will be as well and vice versa. Ability means that if an individual has great ability to process one information type then they will have the ability to process the other one. Here are the pairings:
By Value: I-S, A-O, R-E, T-P
By Ability: I-T, A-R, P-S, E-O
The “by ability” part is very easy to observe on an individual, the “by values” is a bit harder, and is more apparent when observing a group. Some examples:
I-S (1-4,13-16): Where there are weird people there is also food and sex
A-O (9-16): Where there is work there is work ethic, where there is morals there is rationality
R-E (1-8): Where there are systems and hierarchies there is also partying and emotions
T-P (4-13): Where there is religion there is money
All of those things are not immediately apparent unless you really observe and think about it, which you should. That’s it for the basics, but I would highly suggest going deeper into the rabbit hole and changing your life.
A bit about me: I have stable passive income, and my goal with this project is to make the world and people’s lives better, so all information is free and if you have any questions you can just text me on X, I am online almost always and will try my best to answer to as many people as I can.
